My Waffle Recipe

Things that you will need:
- Large Bowl
- Whisk
- Waffle Machine
- Microwave
- Soup bowl
- Measuring Spoons and cups
- Soup Ladle

This usually makes me a heaping plateful as seen in my picture, you can also add blueberries (like I did!) or other yummy stuff if you'd like!

Ingredients you will need:
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 4 tsp baking powder
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 1 1/2 cups warm milk
- 2 eggs
-1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup butter
- Pam

This is very simple to make! Here are the step by steps for making these yummy waffles!!

1. Take your Pam and spray the top and bottom of the Waffle machine, I like to make sure that it won't stick no matter what so I use it.

2. Take the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt and combine them in the large bowl... mix the ingredients lightly.

3. Measure out the milk and place into the soup bowl and microwave it for approx. 40 seconds or until its a bit warm.. Do Not make it boiling hot. Add this to the dry ingredients, as well as the 2 eggs and vanilla extract. Melt the butter in the microwave as well and add into the bowl.

4. Whisk it all together, making sure there are no clumps and that it's all smooth. If you wanted to add berries or other extra's do so at this point.

5. Plug in waffle machine and let it warm up. Once at desirable temperature, use the soup ladle to portion the waffle mix onto the little square sections.

6. Wait a couple mins and VOILA!! WAFFLESSS!! :)

Enjoy with Maple syrup, cut up berries or even vanilla ice cream!

Rimmel ScandalEyes Lycra Flex Mascara

This is another product that I've purchased from Shoppers Drugmart and I've gone back to buy again. It seems to always be on sale for around $8 so it's a pretty good deal. I bought it in 001 Black, color wise it's good just like any other mascara. I have long blonde eyelashes so I absolutely loved the big wand. Makes it easy to separate the lashes, doesn't get clumpy at all. It makes my eyelashes look long and thick so im pretty happy in that sense. If I do accidently get it on my eyelid, it comes off fairly well and it holds well till night time. If I had to rate this product it would be a 9/10, it's a really good deal! I will prob. purchase this again.

NYX Super Skinny Eye Marker

I went out to Target for my first time!! ( Their fairly new to Canadians) so I was blown away by their makeup section! They are way better hands down then Walmart.. def gonna shop there for makeup products. Anyways I picked this NYX Super Skinny Eye Marker up when I was there. I've always wanted to try an eye marker so I gave this a try. I got it in Carbon Black and payed around $10 for it.
Im still a little iffy about the product, it's hard to apply when you have foundation and eye shadow on your eyelids. I had to keep wiping it so it would apply dark. You also have to press on somewhat hard for the liquid to come out, sometime the tip wouldn't be that wet and the base would be :S
It's not the easiest eyeliner I've used before, If I do decide to buy this in the future.. I will probably get the thicker brush since it looks like it would be a lot easier to work with. I'll put a pic of the marker tip below all the text. If I had to rate this product it would be a 5/10 since it was hard to work with, If you guys have questions or comments, please feel free to comment :)

Revlon Colorstay Whipped Foundation

I picked this up from shoppers a while back and I ended up going back for more as I was very impressed by this product. Price wise it isn't over priced at all for what you get. I have pretty pale skin so I got the 150 Buff Chamois, It matches my skin perfectly color wise. I've had problems with other foundations with the coloring, sometimes they'll be too yellow toned or just too red toned for my skin so it doesn't blend in that well. This product however was completely different, it blends in sooo well! it honestly looks like your not wearing makeup. I've gotten so many compliments on my skin since I started using this!
I find the texture of it a lot better then the other mousse foundations like in comparison to the Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse, it's more liquidy so you can apply it a lot easier.. whereas the Dream Matte is sometimes crumbly feeling when you apply it. I use a foundation brush to apply it and it blends very nicely onto the skin. The 24hrs on the lid is absolutely true, It looks amazing till night time and holds up to hot weather. If I were to rate this product, it would have to be 10/10.. I will continue using this product. It's well worth the money in my mind.

iPad Apps I'm Obsessed With: Hay Day

This is by far my fave game app, if you haven't yet.... Download it! You basically run your own farm, you have a set amount of coins and diamonds to start off with ( if you want more you have to purchase them). You have farm animals you must feed in order to get an item from, to get bacon you have to make pig feed to give to the pig. You can sell your items at your little roadside shop, you can set the prices to what you wish but there's a limit so people don't get too greedy!
Once you start rolling in the money you can purchase items for your farm, from a BBQ to a pie oven. It's not all about just running a farm though! You have a bulletin board next to your house with items you have to either buy or make to achieve the tasks, you get XP plus coins for completing them. Later on you have the options of purchasing a dock upgrade for your boat, purchasing more land and opening your mine. Its seriously addicting and I'd have to give it a 10/10!

Product Review! Quo Total Perfection Foundation

I bought this foundation a couple months ago, spent over $20 on it and bought the foundation brush by Quo as well. While I absolutely fell in love with the brush... I didn't with their foundation!
It goes on well, matched my skin tone very well since I have pale skin.. so in that sense its good.
The things that I hated about it was....
  • Makes your skin look very very oily :(
  • It creases really bad after a while so it makes your face look super wrinkly.
  • Comes off very easily compared to other brands i've used.
Funny thing is the label actually says that none of that happens with the product! haha
I'd def. think again before buying the product again, there's cheaper brands out there that do a better job hands down. Again the only good thing was the colour match for light shades. 3/10 for me...

Beauty Product Must-haves for Me!

Well I didn't really realize that I had an obsession with Maybelline products until I made this list...I tend to go for Drugstore brands typically. These are products that I find that work best for me, I'd typically use these for a day to day natural look.. nothing over the top. Sooooo.. lets get started on the list!

1. Mascara

Im really picky when it comes to the type of brush, I like the straight thick bushy bristled brush...my number one go to mascara that i find makes my lashes look long and not clumpy is....
Maybelline- The Turbo Volume Express Mascara in very black.

2. Blush

I was never that into blush until I tried this one, its very soft and creamy texture.
Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Peach Satin.

3. Eyeshadow

I like clean natural colour for an everyday look, I'll also use this for highlighting below the brow when using other eyeshadow shades.
Maybelline Chic Naturals in 15S Linen

4. Bronzer

My face is a tad bit pale so I love to liven up the look and add a nice glow with a little bronzer.
Rimmel Sun Shimmer Bronzer in Sun Love.

5. Cover Up/ Foundation

I have 2 faves, one is great for a matte look..but a pain to apply..the other is liquid for a dewy look.
  • Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse in Porcelaine Ivory.
  • Maybelline FIT me! in shade 115.

6. Eyeliner

I absoultely love the consistancy and stay power of this product but the brush could be a tad better.
Annabelle Studios Smudge Paint in Tar Black.

7. Chapstick

I love love love the smell of this Chapstick, it's a little tinted and makes your lips feel amazing!
Nivea Lip Smoothie in Cranberry and Raspberry.

8. LipGloss

I also love the vanilla smell of this lip gloss and the coral colour of it.
L'Oreal Color Riche Le Gloss.

Easy to make Desert (Valentines idea too!)

                                  Sweet Berry Trifle

This is by far the easiest and most yummiest desert ever! A guy should honestly not have any problems making this what so ever. It does have alcohol in it so not intended for children, but you could always substitute it with something else! This would make a good valentines desert for your loved one as well :)

Ingredients:
  • frozen berry mix.
  • fresh berries.
  • whipped cream. (Nutriwhip)
  • Kahlua alcohol
  • sponge pastry or lady fingers.
  • maraschino cherry.
  • lemon (optional)

1) Get mixer and get the whipped cream ready, I prefer Nutriwhip as it tastes way better then the spray forms of the whipped cream.

2) You should defrost the frozen berries ahead of time so their soft and not frozen when eating the desert! So do that lol. It will be liquidy but you want that, don't get rid of any of that! mix fresh berries in (save some to top off the desert though), squeeze some fresh lemon it it if you'd like (totally optional).

3) get either the premade sponge pastry or lady fingers... grocery stores should sell both but get whichever your preference is. Sponge pastry will be soft or if you go with the lady fingers..it will have a little crunch to it.  In a bowl tear up the sponge cake or break the cookies, Then take the Kahlua alcohol and drizzle on.. it should soak into the pieces. (Don't add too much or it will become a great big soggy mess!)

4) You will need a tall glass cup, Milkshake glass? tall beer cup? anything tall and glass will do. Start layering up your desert! with layers of the lady fingers/ sponge cake, berry liquid mix, whipped cream... whichever order you choose is good.

5) When you get to the top of the cup, put a small amount of whipped cream nicely! and finish off the presentation with a yummy maraschino cherry!

Hartz Products harmful for pets!

A couple weeks ago I went out and bought Hartz UltraGuard OneSpot Drops for my cat Mittsey as a preventitive incase our dogs bring something in the house (she's strictly an indoor cat). I applied it just like it said on the directions, between her shoulder blades so she wouldn't lick at it. Well her hair slowly started dissapearing on her back by her tail, at first we thought she rubbed against something cuz it was a small little patch so we didnt think anything of it.. there was no bleeding or anything. She was acting herself, didn't seem like anything was wrong. We didn't find any clumps of hair anywhere so assumed she was over grooming herself. I went out and bought Smart Groom by WAHL, no rinse shampoo for cats as its impossible to give her baths with her scratching :S I used it a couple times on her, hoping it would help. A week or so passed and she's getting worst! she has lost a lot of hair on her back area and her hind legs, her skin has black marks on it.. which I found really strange and her hair feels dry and not silky like it usually does. Last night I googled the preventitive product by Hartz that I used on her and my stomach started twisting when I found this website:
http://www.hartzvictims.org/
There are soo many people who have had harmful things happen to their pets and even death! just cuz of their products. Their flea preventitive products have the same ingredients that are used in Raid! I basically unknowingly put a poisonous product on my best friend of around 15 years :(
I feel soo horrible, I contacted Walmart, where I purchased the product.. I can't even beleive they would put products that are harmful for animals on their shelves!
Her symptoms don't seem to be that bad from what I can see, she's eating and drinking like she normally would (unlike the horrific stories i've read from other cat owners), she's acting like she normally does but she's scratching herself a lot. I can't get past how much hair she lost, I hope it grows back. I've tried washing her with a wash cloth as she'll go crazy and scratch me to oblivion if I try giving her a bath. I have to wait till payday to take her to the local vet :( keeping my fingers crossed that nothing worst will happen till then and will continue washing her daily with a cloth.
PLEASE don't use Hartz products on your animals, you will regret it soo much. My cat has never had any problems until I used this product:

Before I used the product on her:

This is how the product affected her:

Past life = victorian era? list of great movies to watch :)

Well thought I'd share a little more about myself, I secretly love..love..LOVE Victorian era movies. Might just be that I have a thing for history cuz I'm a nerd like that lol but I swear I must have lived in that era in like a past life or something haha. It's amazing to see how different life was back then, then it is compared to now a days. Sooo.. I figured I'll make a list of the top movies that kept me glued to the screen and not even wanting to leave for a washroom break lmao.( NOTE: these movies are all in full versions on YouTube, so if you haven't yet.. then start watching some of these!)

  • Emma by Jane Austen. (Newer movie version) I think they did a good job of picking the actors and actresses for this particular movie,  I literally didn't want to get up from my seat when I watched this. The story line just makes you wanna keep watching the entire movie till the end. The ending is sooo good, me as a girl I felt all smiley just watching it. It's about a girl Emma Woodhouse , she's from a wealthier family and she lives alone with her father. She thinks she's really good at matchmaking and setting people up but to her surprise she was completely wrong. When setting up a close friend of hers (Harriet) ...the guy she set her friend up with (Mr.Elton) falls in love with Emma instead! Harriet of course gets all broken hearted. Emma and Mr.Knightley(old friend of hers) end up falling in love with each other. Def. a must see!
  • Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.  I absolutely hands down love this movie, I could watch it over and over and not get bored. I have to say by far the best story line in my opinion. There's I believe a BBC version and a new one with Keira Knightely, their both good but I prefer the BBC overall. This is probably a movie that's a must to watch if you haven't yet. It's about a young woman Elizabeth Bennet and her family who are country folk you could say. Mr.Darcy and his friend happen to get a house in her neighbourhood, his friend falls in love with Elizabeth's sister and things take a weird twist when Mr.Darcy starts falling in love with Elizabeth who's of a lower class then him. It's like watching a love hate relationship but things turn out for the best. Really shows how different the living situations were back then, how they had their different wealth status, how they went around with dealings of love and proposals.
  • Jane Eyre(2011). I wasn't a huge fan of this one since it by far was one of the movies with a strange secret involved that was kinda creepy. It's about Jane's life and her going and working as a governess to a man that's really harsh. They end up falling in love but he has a secret that he keeps hidden in a different wing of the estate. She finds out and can't handle it all so she runs away, when she comes back she finds the place burnt down...but relax he's alive but got injured in the accident. Definitely watch it and let me know how twisted you thought it was cuz I know it was a total wtf why would someone do that moment (on the guys behalf lol)
  • Tess of the D'urbervilles (2008). This movie is basically about the struggles of Tess who's from a very poor family. She finds out that she apparently has relatives in the wealthier classes so she sets out to meet them and hopefully ask for help. What her family doesn't know is that their not true D'urbervilles, they were just using the last name for weird shady reasons. Tess ends up having personal struggles with Angel (the apparent wealthy cousin), he ends up raping her :(  I felt soo bad for her during the whole movie and how much she had to struggle but she does end up falling in love...which also has some twists that really sucked but in the end she finally ends up with the right guy. I would watch it if you like seeing how the different classes were and how hard people actually had to work back to just simply live.
  • Daniel Deronda(2002). This is another movie where I felt really sorry for the main character and the hardships she had to endure. Its the same actress from the Emma movies as well! Basically about the lives of both Daniel Deronda and Gwendolen. It's about Daniels journey in finding who he is and where he came from as he was adopted at a young age. Then Gwendolen has a thing for Daniel but he somehow disappears a lot from her life? lol so she settles for a man that's rich (Henleigh). That's where she made the mistake, he's a complete control freak :S That's where I felt soo bad for her and how she got treated. He ends up passing away...Yay! haha and she thinks she finally has Daniel but nope... he marries another woman who he met in the process of finding his past out.
Wow this list is gonna be longer then I thought :S
To cut it short these are some of the others I've seen that I'll prob end up making a part 2 to this post.
The Young Victoria(2009), Wives and Daughters(1999), The way we live now(2001), North and South(2004), Persuasion(2007)...etc.

I've watched way more movies then that but this page would be completely filled with a never ending list, those are just a few that I've enjoyed watching, If you guys have any faves that I might not have watched just yet then pleasssee leave me a comment and let me know which ones you've watched, thanks for reading :)

Best artichoke dippp ever!!

                                     Cheesy Artichoke Dip

If anyone knows me, they'd obviously tell you i love food!
This is by far my fave dip recipe, sure it might be a bit pricey ($20-$30) but oh is it worth it in the end :)
I guess you could call it a 3 cheese artichoke dip.. and its used not as chip dip but putting on crusty bread like calabrese, or a nice baguette. I highly do not recommend this for anyone on a diet as its probably not the most healthiest thing out there!! Also not recommended for anyone going out or for a hot date due to the garlic :P
Soooo the ingredients you need:
  • small deli container of freshly ground Parmesan cheese
  • wedge of Asiago cheese
  • mozzarella ball
  • 3-4 tablespoons mayonnaise ( do not use 1/2 fat)
  • 2 cans of artichoke hearts
  • oregano
  • vegetable oil
  • clove of garlic

  1. Shred the asiago and mozzarella cheese in a fairly big bowl, also throw in the Parmesan.
  2. Drain the artichoke hearts, try to get all the liquid out :S Cut into halves and finely chop the artichoke, add into the bowl with the cheese.
  3. finely chop about 2-3 cloves of garlic, then add into the cheese bowl as well. Add in about 3-4 tablespoons of mayo. Stir it all up, You wanna see it evenly coated... kinda like the consistency of tuna when you put mayo in it lol.
  4. You will need a deep baking tray, i use one of those glass baking trays. You don't want a long baking tray either... since you don't want it to be crispy, you just want it all to melt together. Once you found the appropriate tray, take  a small amount of vegetable oil and grease all the sides and bottom. Set the oven for 400.
  5. Using a spatula scoop it into the baking tray, pat down evenly. Sprinkle some oregano on top and throw into the oven.
  6. Let it melt away for 15-20 mins, until top starts browning a little. Slice up bread into serveable bitesizes and voila artichoke dip, best eaten while its hot and cheese is all melted.

If you guys have any questions or comments please feel free to comment or follow :)
